Warner Bros. wants two DC Comics movies per year

Straight from the New York Comic-Con, Heat Vision reports that DC Comics’ Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns told the crowd that Warner Bros. is looking to amp up the frequency of its superhero movie releases.

“You will see at least one, I’d expect two a year,” Johns told the crowd.

No word on when this schedule will officially begin. Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds as test pilot turned space cop Hal Jordan, comes out June 17 of next year, and it seems impossible that they’d be able to shoot and finish another for 2011.

The third Christopher Nolan Batman movie starring Christian Bale arrives on July 20, 2012, with Superman flying back into a theater near you that Christmas. That’s going to be a very good year.
