Homework: Let’s cast the new Superman movie

Later this week, I’ll post my dream cast for the Superman reboot.

I’m working on mine as we speak, and I’d love to hear your ideas, too.

Let’s start with Clark Kent/Superman, Lois Lane, and General Zod.

And … go!

    Ok

I don’t have a Zod yet, but I wanted to get the others down.

These choices are contingent on the story being set some 10-20 years after Superman’s origin story.

    Clark/Superman – Jon Hamm
I haven’t seen him in anything but from what I’ve heard is that he is a very good actor. Every time I see him though he reminds me of an Alex Ross big barrel-chested superman.

    Lois Lane – Lauren Graham
Also, I haven’t seen her in anything than probably 2 Gilmore Girls episodes, but I think she might fit the bill.

    Zod – TBD

Also, after watching Scott Pilgrim last month, it reminded me how much I liked Brandon Routh as Superman and was disappointed he had such a bad story to work with. So I wouldn’t mind seeing him try again.

How are you, Jeremy? Thanks for the comment. Jon Hamm is the only person I can imagine as Superman right now. (Besides Tom Welling, of course, but that’s never going to happen.)

I love Lauren Graham. I love her. I love her.

If they announced tomorrow that Brandon Routh would get another chance with a totally new story and continuity, I’d accept him as Superman, because that movie’s faults were NOT his. I’ve got a few ideas for Zod. I’ll post it all tonight. Thanks again for the comment!

    I’m well.

I didn’t realize at the time I put my Jon Hamm suggestion out there that there was already so much speculation for him to be Superman. Seems like there’s a rumor he’s already in talks for the role.

Tom Welling? meh, but that’s mostly cause I’m bitter about how the last 3-4 seasons of Smallville have been.

Looking forward to your recommendations. I’m still struggling with Zod cause I still think of last season of Smallville and it upsets me.
