Even though director Martin Campbell is prepping a live-action Green Lantern movie, DC Comics and the awesome animated films division at Warner Bros. will release Green Lantern: First Flight on July 21, 2008.

It looks great.  I love the costume design. It’s directed by lovely Lauren Montgomery, who did an awesome job on the animated features Superman: Doomsday and especially Wonder Woman, with a script by Alan Burnett, whose animation screenplay credits speak for themselves.

Voices to listen for include Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) as Hal Jordan and Victor Garber (who was basically playing Batman as Sydney’s dad on Alias) as the sinister Sinestro. We’re also getting Michael Madsen and Battlestar Galactica goddess Tricia Helfer as Hal’s fellow Lanterns Kilowog and Boodikka.
