Peace Fund Radio #85

Beautiful and talented actress and inspiring activist Cerina Vincent (POWER RANGERS LOST GALAXY, CABIN FEVER, THE WALKING DEAD: COLD STORAGE, MONIKA) joins Adrian Paul and Ethan Dettenmaier in the studio to discuss her personal connection to the #1 genetic killer of teens and adults in the United States: Cystic Fibrosis. Learn about the science behind this deadly chronic disease, the strides being made to fight it every day by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the massive amount of research and work that still needs to be done. Cerina also shares how YOU can help by sponsoring her upcoming CFF hike.

The conversation allows me to recall Heroes of the Week such as Aaron Maresky, Jen Rubino, Risha Shukla, Jessica Waters, and the Scheinman family, who all turned their own experiences with chronic illnesses into organizations and efforts that bring hope and relief to young patients and their families.

And then I reveal our new Hero, 8-year-old Lorelai Brewer, who was born with only half a heart and has undergone numerous surgeries ever since. Lorelai founded Heart Hugs to provide kid-sized compression pillows to help other young heart and lung patients around the world recover more quickly from the pain and discomfort of the massive medical procedures that keep them alive.
